Hi, I'm Nadya. I run Garlic Bloom, a family-owned personal chef and catering service, serving Portland Metro area. We provide weekly meals for families, catering for variety of events, holiday menu creation, and we even host cooking classes for kids at your residence.

Turn a regular playdate into a learning adventure at your kitchen! From properly using a knife, kneading the dough, to making their first sandwich, learning to cook is as useful of a life skill as it is a fun social activity.

We will carefully consider all your preferences and take care of the organization of your holiday. And even if you don’t know what to pick, we will introduce you to a wide range of dishes and help you create a menu specific to your taste, occasion and wallet!


Every time my kids attended cooking classes everyone (including me) enjoyed it! Always fun! Creative! Delicious! Accommodating! Everyone was so happy and we brought goodies back home for everyone to enjoy! We attended 5 classes.

About Nadya
My passion for culinary arts began during my early childhood. I was born and raised in the glorious city of Lviv in Western Ukraine. Bright, flavorful, authentic cultures of different nations converged in Lvov and home cooking was the pride and joy of every family, including my own. My Grandmother was an excellent cook and my first culinary teacher. I spent every summer at her house, learning and observing her ways. She put her whole heart and soul into each dish, claiming that "love is always the secret ingredient." I too cook with love now, carefully crafting each and every entree.

Nature and travel have also greatly influenced my cooking. I spent a lot of time in my garden, learning to distinguish tastes and aromas of real fruits and vegetables. At the age of 18, my journey took me to sunny Greece, where I ended up spending more than seven years. Seeing endless stalls of spices, tasting fresh new seafood and vegetables, prepared in an authentically Mediterranean way, has opened up new horizons for me. Today, I live in beautiful Oregon, the cornucopia of the Pacific Northwest, which inspires me to only use fresh and wholesome products.

Through my entire culinary journey, though, one ingredient has always stood out: garlic. Because of its unique blooming purple rosettes and its deep and fragrant flavor, garlic has become my absolute favorite, the top spice in my palette. This inspired me to choose the name Garlic Bloom for my company.
